Welcome to this subject on pregnancy
From conception to birth, a woman’s body undertakes an amazing process of fertilisation, implantation and the development and growth of her baby (or babies). Whether first, second,(or more) pregnancy, each body will react differently to each individual pregnancy. This subject examines the stages of pregnancy, the changes in a woman’s body and the Yogic response. It draws together a diverse range of resources for a teacher to have at hand
Pregnancy lasts around 40 weeks from the first day of a woman’s last menstrual period, or 38 weeks from the date of conception if that date is known. It is usually broken into three parts called ‘trimesters’. The first trimester lasts from week one to week 13; the second trimester from 14 to 27; and the third from 28 to 40 weeks or until birth.
