Yoga and Christianity, though originating from distinct cultural and religious contexts, share profound links in their search for meaning and spiritual fulfilment. Both traditions emphasize the transformative power of devotion, selfless service, and inner contemplation.

In the Bhagavad Gita, Arjuna’s anguish on the battlefield represents a universal human struggle for meaning amidst chaos and moral dilemmas. Krishna’s guidance to Arjuna highlights the path of Bhakti Yoga, or devotion, as a means to transcend personal turmoil and connect with a higher purpose. Krishna advises Arjuna to surrender his ego and dedicate his actions to the Divine, illustrating that true meaning arises from aligning one’s life with spiritual principles.

Similarly, Christianity emphasizes the search for meaning through devotion to God and following the teachings of Jesus Christ. The Christian call to “love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind” (Matthew 22:37) echoes the Bhakti Yoga emphasis on wholehearted devotion. Jesus’ life exemplifies selfless service and surrender to God’s will, paralleling Krishna’s teachings to Arjuna.

Both Yoga and Christianity guide individuals towards a deeper understanding of themselves and their purpose in life. By fostering a connection with the Divine and encouraging selfless actions, these traditions offer pathways to inner peace and a meaningful, spiritually fulfilling life.
